The following information is required for the making of your
kilt. Please remember that your garment will be only as good as the measurements you take. This is the only information the kilt make has to work from. Sir Roberts Highland does not take responsibility for incorrect measurements supplied and
Sir Robert's Highland House is not responsible for
measurement errors. Clothes size is not a measurement. A tape
measure must be used. Do follow the instructions carefully. Please be careful
and measure twice. ***Measuring is a two person job and a tape measure and a wooden yard stick is required.***
Allow 6-8 weeks for making.
WAIST AT NAVAL (A-A)
Measure around
the navel, snug measurement standing relaxed. Do not suck in or push
out stomach. Do not measure over bulky clothing. Make sure
tape measure is up right.
SEAT (B-B)
Measure
around the seat/hips at the widest place. Make sure nothing in the pockets especially the hip
pocket. Make sure tape measure is up right.
LENGTH
(C-D)
Measure kneeling on a very hard floor.
Kneel in an upright position. Knees should be 2" apart.
Do not look down! With a wooden 36" ruler place the 1" end
between the knees and measure to the navel.
